The cooperation between the HAW Tonlabor, HAW GamesLab and HfMT enables and strengthens the collaboration between students from different departments and competences, especially in questions of audio-spatialisation, synaesthesia, game design, immersion, haptics and music, with starting points in the already established projects ‘Moving Sound Pictures’ and ‘Kinetics in Sound & Space’; here in particular in the sub-project ‘Investigations into the perception and aesthetics of virtual-spatial sound scenes’, which will run for 3.5 years.
VR Music Experience / Music in interactive digital worlds
The project aims to create an interactive music ‘experience’ in a virtual reality (VR) environment that will serve as a case study for the next step in the development of music production techniques and broadcast formats. In such a VR application, the audience will be in the centre of the audiovisual event and interact with the music, which spans the three-dimensional space in the sense of an auditory scenography. The project is a cooperation between HAW Tonlabor, HAW GamesLab and HfMT and is funded by the Gesellschaft Hamburg Innovation as part of the Call4Transfer funding programme 2020.
